Last Saturday, 3rd Sept 2005. We were waiting in the van for Kian Kuen to buy for us Burger King's Mushroom Swiss at Woodlands MRT.
While waiting, an old lady in her 60s-70s knocked on my window. Relunctanly, I wound down the window and she began to tell me of her "misfortune". At the end, she asked if I've got some cash to spare her so she can buy herself some painkiller for her wound.
I dished out a 10 dollars note after "flipping" thru' them. She thanked me unreservingly asking her gods to bless me... All I did was to smile. As the bugers came and we drove off to Queenstown for a youth worship, I began to ask myself "Why didn't I tell the old lady that Jesus loves her?" Or "Why didn't I say: Shen Zu Fu Ni?" Or even "Just say: wanting to show you God's love in a practical way?" But God has assured me that a seed had been sow although I didn't say a single word. Why? God show that #1 I've embraced her thru' winding down of the window although I did it reluntantly. #2 I've extend my help to her thru' practical need.
A question for us to ponder and think thru'... When it is within your means, are you willing to help, not just dishing out the cash but giving practical needs? What would Jesus DO then? What would you do then? Lord, give unto us your kingdom perspective.
